Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST)

Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an evidence-based and community-based treatment program for children with complex clinical, social and educational needs who are “at risk” for out of home placement or returning from an out of home placement. The program is an intensive 3-5 month, home-based program that addresses all environmental systems that impact chronic, violent behaviors in youth ages 12-17.5 years. The MST treatment team focuses on youth homes and families, schools and teachers, neighborhoods and friends. The MST Therapist works with parents and other caregivers to target chronic, violent behaviors by teaching new ways of thinking about behavior and implementing plans to keep problem behaviors under control.

Since 2003, CCMS has been funded by the Prince George’s County Local Management Board through the Department of Family Services and the Department of Juvenile Services to provide MST services to Prince George’s & Montgomery County families.
